Austin DeGroot is a patient at Children's Hospital in Wisconsin. As with many of the families who use this one-of-a-kind facility, the DeGroot family wants to give back to the wonderful staff and the other families at the hospital and other organizations. Here is a letter from the family:
Austin had a dream and when he woke up he was upset and confused. We decided to write a song about his life and his dream in hopes of inspiring others. We have met a lot of families struggling with cancer and we have watched as some have lost the battle. We feel fortunate that we still are winning the fight and in some weird way we are lucky to have experienced cancer. We want to use the profits from the sale of the CD to help other families, and need to send a message of hope to other children who are fighting for their lives. The dream was a year ago and it has taken this long to get it ready and actually make a song of it. We have a great friend in Dorsey entertainment who has worked very hard to put the song to music and create something so inspirational. Families of Children with Cancer Organization and Angel on My Shoulder are the two organizations we hope to help.
