Nobody knows anything for sure about what Adele's new album is going to sound like...except, perhaps, Kelly Clarkson. In a new interview, she reveals what appears to be some inside information about the British star's eagerly anticipated project. Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Kelly talks about how many artists seem to be hopping from genre to genre these days, and says she plans to record a country album in the future.  In the middle of the conversation, she says, "…Even Adele I heard is doing something more country-influenced with this next record." Kelly doesn't go into detail about where…

Bobby Brown's sister claims in a Facebook post that Nick Gordon is under investigation for attempted murder, after her niece and his partner, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Georgia home in late January. Leolah Brown addressed her post to Dr. Phil McGraw, who staged a supposed intervention with Gordon for an episode of his TV show airing Wednesday. Brown writes, "Nick Gordon is under investigation for the attempted murder of my niece Bobby Kristina Brown. We have strong evidence of foul play. Until this investigation is completed by law enforcement, I would ask that…

Ariana Grande Joined Onstage by Big Sean at Detroit Concert

Ariana Grande's concert in Detroit Saturday doubled as a date night for the singer and boyfriend, Big Sean. He joined the "Love Me Harder" singer for a couple of songs, according to Billboard. Big Sean, 26, took the stage and rapped as Ariana, 21, appeared above him on a cloud-shaped platform singing "Best Mistake," from her 2014 album, My Everything. The Detroit-based rapper returned three songs later and shared the stage and a kiss with Ariana as they performed "Right There," from her 2013 album, Yours Truly, according to Billboard. Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" Marks 200th Week on the "Billboard" Album Chart

Congratulations are in order for Katy Perry: her album Teenage Dream has just passed its 200th week on the Billboard album chart. Teenage Dream was released in 2010 and debuted at #1.  It's only the 25th album to spend that many weeks on the chart since 1991, when the so-called "Soundscan Era" of collecting music sales data began.  Among the others discs that have hung around for that many weeks: Bruno Mars' Doo-Wops & Hooligans, Taylor Swift's Fearless, and Nirvana's Nevermind. Teenage Dream's sales are close to three million and it's only the second album in history to spin off…

Taylor Swift Close to Overtaking The Beatles in Overall "Billboard" Hits

It's hard to believe, but Taylor Swift is poised to overtake The Beatles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Taylor's song "You Are in Love," from the deluxe edition of her album 1989, was just made available on iTunes for download, and thanks to its sales, the song has entered the Billboard Hot 100 at #83.  This means in her career, Taylor has now scored 68 entries on that chart.  There are only nine musical acts in history who've had more, and next on the list is The Beatles, with 71.  If Taylor keeps releasing individual tracks from 1989, it…

On New Album, for Once, Madonna Looks Back: "It Seemed Like the Right Time"

If you're a Madonna fan, you probably know that she dislikes looking back.  But on her new album, Rebel Heart, there's a song called "Veni, Vidi, Vici" -- Latin for "I Came, I Saw, I Conquered" -- in which she basically tells the story of her career while name-checking the titles of her biggest hits, from "Holiday" and "Borderline" to "Ray of Light" and "Open Your Heart."   It's an unusual move for the Queen of Pop, but she tells the The New York Times why she chose to do it. "I don’t like to dwell in the past, but it…

OneRepublic's "Native" Finally Hits 1 Million in Sales

Congratulations to OneRepublic: the band has scored the second million-seller of its career, Billboard reports. This past week, Native, the band's third album, crossed the million mark.  Originally released two years ago, the album was a slow-building success: the first two singles, "Feel Again" and "If I Lose Myself," did all right, but it was the release of the third single, "Counting Stars," that really goosed sales of the record.  The song became a massive hit, peaking at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100; it was also a worldwide smash. OneRepublic's first album, 2007's Dreaming Out Loud, is also a…
