A documentary on ESPN tonight will feature the story of Appleton native Rocky Bleier, and he’s coming to his hometown next month to talk about his life on stage.
Bleier has his own one-man show called “The Play,” and he’s bringing it to Xavier High School from September 12th to the 14th. He’s a 1964 Xavier graduate.
Deacon Ray DuBois of the St. Francis Xavier System says they’ve been trying to book the show for some time.
The three-act play follows Bleier’s life, starting with growing up above his family’s bar in downtown Appleton.
Tonight’s documentary features Bleier’s return to Vietnam, 50 years after he was wounded there. It’s on ESPN2 at 7 p.m.
