The creator of a controversial sculpture in Appleton says art is supposed to get people to think, feel, and react.
“The Collective” is on the west end of the College Avenue Bridge, and some neighbors want it moved to a different place.
Paul Bobrowitz is the artist, and he says he understands both sides. He’s glad people are talking about the piece.
The sculpture is made up of old propane tanks, with faces on them, and they’re arranged in the shape of a head.
The city’s municipal services committee is planning to debate the location this month. It’s scheduled to be at the spot for two years, through the ACREofART program.
