Business groups from the state are trying to encourage veterans to come to Wisconsin when they get out of the military.
Rebecca Deschane of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation took part in a veteran-ready summit in Green Bay today. She says they meet with military members on bases around the U.S. and other parts of the world, about one year before they’re going to be discharged.
Deschane says the agency wants to make sure military members know about the job and educational opportunities that are available in the state. She says Wisconsin also leads the nation, by offering 23 of the 26 recognized benefits for veterans.
