Ludacris and Nelly faced off on Saturday night (May 16th) on Instagram Live in an epic VERZUZ battle. The battle got started late due to Nelly’s wifi signal dipping in and out. After getting started, the two played their biggest hits for over three hours in front of almost 500k viewers. The hits included “Area Codes” and “Dilemma” to “Stand Up” and “Hot in Herre” and more.
Celebs like Diddy, Usher, and Quincy Jones tuned in. Ludacris also debuted never-before-heard music including a version of his Neptunes-produced hit “Money Maker” featuring Nelly.
Ludacris also debuted two new tracks produced by Timbaland, including a collaboration with Lil Wayne called “Silence of the Lamb” and another featuring Chance the Rapper. Luda faced some backlash after fans heard him rap “I love R.Kelly but around my daughters I’m not comfortable” on “Silence of the Lambs.”
The two also teased a possible tour. Nelly told Ludacris, “Your longevity is legendary.” Luda told Nelly, “There are no other Nellys in the world.”
