A poll by St. Norbert College shows 74 percent supported the extension of the state’s “safer at home” order.
Jim Palmer of the Wisconsin Professional Police Association worked with the school on the poll. He hopes local governments will consider that, if they’re looking to set coronavirus guidelines in the future.
Palmer also had the college ask about expanding workers compensation for emergency responders during the pandemic, and the majority support that, along with hazard pay.
Palmer says if there are any spikes or outbreaks, people are going to expect police to do their part.
