A registered sex offender will spend 20 years in federal prison for sexually assaulting a child during a four-day trip.
Brian Wickersham was arrested at a truck stop in Bellevue in 2018, after traveling with the boy to Virginia and back to Wisconsin. The victim was able to escape, and get help at a diner.
Judge William Griesbach says Wickersham has a history of “preying on children,” and called the crime “horrendous.”
Wickersham is from Merrill in northcentral Wisconsin. He was convicted in 1994 of repeatedly sexually assaulting a four-year-old child in Milwaukee County.
