Make sure to check out the hypnotizing promo video at the end of this article! Talk about trippy!
A chain of gyms has decided to offer up free hypnosis sessions for its members to hypnotize them to actually enjoy working out.
Some people genuinely enjoy working out and lifting weights, other people…not so much. For example, I enjoy it once I build up the motivation to actually get in the gym. Some days you just don’t feel it. Some days there’s just not enough time. There are a ton of excuses (none really valid) as to why I haven’t been to the gym in a while. I would like to be hypnotized, please.
Well, now that idea is a reality thanks to Blink Fitness. They’re calling it “in-gym and virtual hypnosis sessions.” Gymnosis. Being hypnotized to access your subconscious and telling it, “uhh, yeah you totally love working out, bro, go get swol and enjoy it!”
It seems like a pretty fun and cool marketing scheme to be honest. But is that what it is?! A Scheme? A gimmick? Maybe.
Here’s how it works:
First, you sign up for the virtual group session online. The sessions run from 30-40 mins. Then, for best results, you’re supposed to listen to an audio recording over and over before you go to bed. That’s it. Doesn’t seem too hard. They do admit that results are not guaranteed. Shocker.
Some people are more easily hypnotized than others, and some cannot be hypnotized at all. I, however, have been hypnotized once. I was 18 years old at my senior high school all night party. This hypnotist dude was doing his thing, and pulled me out of the crowd. I stood up and put my head on his chest and looking toward the ground. He says something for a few seconds and then says “on the count of three you will go to sleep, 3…2…1 sleep.” And boom, I was out. Not out-out, but just INSANELY relaxed and comfortable. It was a weird feeling because I knew where I was, what was going on, but I just didn’t care.
Mr. Hypnotist dude-guy did the same for a few other people and lined us up on the stage. He made us all think someone stole our belly button and we ran around trying to find it and accusing people of being belly button thieves. We were all legitimately pissed off 🤣. He made us stick our tongues out and then made us believe we will never be able to put them back in our mouths until some random stranger poked out tongues. The whole thing was crazy. It’s wild to me that hypnotism actually works. Well, for me at least.
I’ve heard of hypnotism for losing weight, quitting smoking, anger management, and other things, and I’m well aware it doesn’t always stick- but sometimes it does. I’d totally be down for giving it a try! I want to be fit and actually enjoy being at the gym!
They even have a promo video and is insane because it actually did something to me. I felt weightless and funny. Check it out HERE!
