APPLETON, Wis–A murder suspect that tried to escape from the Outagamie County Jail will spend five years in prison. Matthew Beyer is also sentenced to five years on extended supervision for Attempted Escape and Taking Hostages.
Beyer and another inmate, Demetrius Williams, pulled a weapon on a female guard inside the jail June of 2020–demanding to be released. Beyer was being held in connection with First Degree Intentional Homicide after allegedly killing his two children in their Kaukauna home.
Williams was also sentenced to five years behind bars. Beyer will stand trial on the murder charges December 1st.
