GREEN BAY, Wis–Green Bay’s next fire chief is coming from Illinois. The Police and Fire Commission selects Matthew Knott of Rockford for the position.
Knott is currently a Division Chief of Administration in Rockford. The other finalist for chief was Green Bay Metro Fire Assistant Chief of Operations Rob Goplin (goh-pleen).
Knott will succeed Chief David Litton, who is retiring at the end of the month after nine years as chief.
