It’s. About. To. Go. DOWN.
The iconic 90s multiplayer shooter game, GoldenEye 007 is FINALLY back! The game that unofficially started the first-person battle craze that had me in a chokehold for many years, makes its grand return on the Nintendo Switch Online and Xbox Live Friday! There was nothing better than rounding up a few friends on a Saturday night, begging my Mom to buy us a case of Surge (or Orange Slice, R.I.P. 😭), a couple of little Caesar’s pizzas, and Doritos for a full night of absolute trash-talking war. We took this seriously. And I was the best. No matter what anyone else says, just know this as truth.
While the two games are technically free, you must subscribe to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion, or Xbox Game Pass, so after that, it’s “free.” The games are not completely the same on both consoles, however.
For Nintendo Switch owners, not only will you be able to relive one of our favorite games of all time… but for the first time in the game’s 26-year history, you will also be able to play ONLINE MULTIPLAYER! This is what dreams are made of, folks.
Unfortunately for Xbox users, you will not be able to play Goldeneye 007 with your friends online. [Insert sad trombone noise] The game will, however, look a little sharper as it’s remastered and includes new control options, achievements, 16:9 resolution, and up to 4K Ultra HD resolution.
If you need me at all for the next few weeks, no you don’t. 🎮🕹️
