If you’re not a fan of spiders than you’re really not going to be a fan of giant robot spiders.
The future is going to be a frightening place because it apparently involves giant flying robot spiders.
Thanks to researchers at the University of Tokyo, we have these things that certainly nobody asked for. These robot spiders are huge! It can also walk, run, and FLY. It has fans on all its legs, so it’s kind of also like a drone.
It’s called SPIDAR, which they say stands for “SPherIcally vectorable and Distributed rotors assisted Air-ground amphibious quadruped Robot.” They had to stretch a bit to get that one.
Like… why? Just why? This is getting out of hand! Can we just put a pause on new technology and AI stuff, please? Like we’re good right where we’re at right? No? I don’t know, but I do know that I do not want giant flying robot spiders.
