SHAWANO, WI — The investigation into an officer involved shooting in Shawano last November is now closed. The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that the Winnebago County District Attorney’s Office has completed a review of the shooting death of Lucas Christenson by a Shawano City Police officer on November 19, 2022. The officer was among those dispatched to a report of a disturbance at a home on South Lafayette Street. The investigation by Winnebago County D.A. Eric Sparr reviewed body cam footage, witness statements, recorded 9-1-1 conversations and other electronic evidence. That evidence showed Christenson was armed, fired one shot and made threats to shoot others. Sparr’s investigation concluded that the officer’s use of deadly force was justified and no charges will be filed in the case.
