How many semi trucks does it take to carry Taylor Swift’s equipment and staging for The Eras Tour shows? 50.
Yep, you read that right. A photo posted by Barry Butler Photography on June 1 prior to her 3-night show in Chicago last weekend shows 50 semis parked side-by-side in the parking lot – all used to transport the equipment needed for the extremely impressive production and performances she put on at Soldier Field.
The Eras Tour came to Chicago from June 2-4, with over 190,000 fans in attendance over the course of the three sold-out shows, per NBC Chicago. Even more gathered on the grass outside of the stadium to create their own outdoor Taylor Swift concert.
According to NBC Chicago,
Late last week, Soldier Field announced that the venue and the area around it were at “max capacity” and “strongly discouraged” fans without tickets from gathering outside the stadium during shows. In a press release, the stadium said that “No part of the show will be visible and stadium acoustics do not provide any audible quality outside of it.”
Of course, this did not deter hundreds of Swifties from gathering on the grass anyway, creating an Eras Tour concert experience of their own. The low-quality audio and zero visibility was worth just hearing the concert from a distance for die-hard fans that weren’t able to snag a ticket.
This tour is sure to be one for the history books. I mean, it took her FIFTY semis to transport her concert equipment – she really is going all out for this one.
