MENASHA, Wis–Menasha officials are looking into continued mechanical issues with the new Racine Street Bridge. Public Works Director Laura Jungwirth says the bridge is seeing an increasing number of malfunctions as summer boat traffic requires more lifting of the drawbridge……………
Residents living near the bridge initially complained about a “thud” sound made when vehicles pass over it. Chris Evenson says that sound now happens during lift operations too………
Jungwirth says experts were called in to look into the noise issues, and they believe the clunking sound is normal for a drawbridge of that type.
