It’s a great day to be a Sabrina Carpenter fan!
Her highly anticipated album, Short n’ Sweet, dropped today with 12 tracks including extremely popular songs “Please Please Please” and “Espresso.”
Plus, the music video for the opening track, “Taste,” was released, featuring the iconic actress Jenna Ortega. You can watch that below.
While it might be the obvious assumption, the title of the album isn’t in reference to the fact that Carpenter is not super tall. It’s actually referencing short relationships. In an interview with Zane Lowe from Apple Music, she said, “I called it Short n’ Sweet for multiple reasons. It was not because I’m vertically challenged. I thought about some of these relationships and how some of them were the shortest I’ve ever had, and they affected me the most.”
This leads us to the fact that there’s already buzz about who the songs on the album are about, with many speculating they hint at her brief, or short relationship with Shawn Mendes in 2023. However, according to Us Weekly, Mendes denied any romance and was seen with his ex, Camila Cabello, shortly after being spotted with Carpenter.
Regardless of what’s true and what’s not, Carpenter continues to pop off in the music scene, giving us hit after hit and slowly becoming one of the biggest pop stars in the industry.
