Cleaning the bathroom is not something one typically files under the heading: “Fun Stuff To Do Today!” I always feel great upon completion, but achieving the calm of cleanliness isn’t my idea of a good time. Consequently, I’m always looking for easier, more cost effective and safer solutions to keeping this task palatable.
So here you go… It’s the greatest cleaning solution not on the market. Dare I say, it’s the cleaning solution THEY don’t want you to know about! It couldn’t be easier, and it couldn’t possibly be more effective. 2 ingredients.
In a spray bottle, mix equal parts blue Dawn dish soap and plain old white vinegar. You can use Palmolive or Ajax or others, but in my experience, the basic, original recipe blue Dawn is the best for this. Same thing goes with the vinegar. You can get “cleaning vinegar” … don’t bother. Plain old white kitchen vinegar is perfect.
Swirl the mix around to combine, then spray on anything. It’s particularly fantastic for soap scum and hard water deposits. Just let it sit on your shower walls and/or glass doors, countertops, toilets, whatever!
The ingredients are about as simple and non-toxic as you can get, you don’t have to worry about letting it sit and damaging surfaces (in fact, it’s more effective if you do), and there are no life threatening fumes about which to concern yourself. I mean, the vinegar game is strong, but my whole bathroom smells like potato salad, and that’s reason alone to use this concoction.
