The Green Bay Blizzard saved their best for last, as a packed Resch Center was treated to some bonus football Friday night, Green Bay walking off the visiting Tulsa Oilers 74-68 in overtime. Sixty minutes of regulation could not contain the two teams, who traded offensive blows throughout the contest. Defense was certainly at a premium, but ultimately it was the Green Bay defensive unit that came up with the biggest of plays when it mattered most.
Tulsa possessed the ball first in the extra period, but was stood up, failing to advance, setting up a field goal attempt to take the lead. The ball never made it to the uprights, however, as Blizzard D-lineman Allen Henry slapped it back and paved the road for the dramatic conclusion. As he had two times prior in the contest, Blizzard running back Kimo Clarke took the handoff and powered his way in, clinching the 74-68 victory.
Green Bay, now 2-2 on the season, will get to rest up before heading to Worcester, Massachusetts to face the defending Eastern Conference Champion Pirates (1-2) on April 27.
