92.9 | 95.9 KISS FM (WKZY|WKSZ) BEAT THE BUZZER
OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES 2023
These rules apply to Beat the Buzzer Cash Contest (“Contest”) conducted by Woodward Radio Group d/b/a WKZY | WKSZ (FM) (“Station”). In addition, the General Contest Rules posted at www.959KISSFM.com apply to this Contest. If there is a conflict between the General Contest Rules and the Rules for this Contest, the Rules for this Contest shall control.
ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS
This Contest is open to all Station listeners who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry into the Contest, who are legal US residents and reside in Wisconsin, except where prohibited by law. Winners must possess a valid, government-issued ID and show proof of residency to verify eligibility.
HOW TO PLAY THE GAME
- The Contest will begin Monday, March 27, 2023 and will end on Friday, May 5, 2023, or when a total of six thousand dollars ($6,000) has been awarded, whichever occurs first.
- To enter on-air, listen to the Station each weekday beginning on March 27, 2023 and ending on May 5, 2023 between the hours of 9:00am Central Daylight Time (“CDT”) and 5:00pm CDT for the announcements of the cues to call.
- There will be up to a total of three (3) cues to call each weekday at approximately 9:10am, 1:10pm and 4:10pm CDT. Upon hearing the cue to call, the 9th caller (as announced on-air at the time of the cue to call) to the Station contest line at (866) 916-0959 will be deemed a “Contestant” and have the opportunity to play the Beat the Buzzer game giveaway (the “Game”).
- The object of the Game is for the contestant to say “Stop” before hearing the “Buzzer” sound effect. The selected contestant will then listen to a piece of audio that will announce a number of random dollar amounts. For example: “$50…$100…$200…$400…” and so on. The audio will eventually conclude at a different dollar amount each time Beat the Buzzer is played. As the pre-recorded announcement is heard, a Contestant will have the option to say “Stop” when they hear the dollar amount that they wish to claim. Cash values will continue to be announced until a Contestant says “Stop” to win the Cash Value that was last mentioned or a “Buzzer” sound effect is heard, which signals the end of the Game for the Contestant.
- If the “Buzzer” effect is heard, the Contestant will not receive any prize. Once a Contestant says “Stop,” they may not later change their mind to continue the Game.
- Station is the sole judge in determining whether or not the Contestant successfully wins the Game. By participating in the contest, each participant agrees that the Station’s decisions regarding the award of prize amounts will be final and binding in all respects.
- There is no limit to the number of times a listener may attempt to call in to win, but a listener may be a winner only ONCE.
Note: Due to the nature of our programs that are heard online over the Internet, contests heard on the radio station’s internet audio stream are slightly delayed from the time the contest is heard on the broadcast station and may be running behind the broadcast signal. Thus, all contests heard are delayed. This delay can last for 30 seconds up to several minutes. This means that when the station announces the cues to call in for this contest, listeners to the on-line audio stream may be at a disadvantage in participating over those listeners who hear the contest on conventional radio. For this contest, the station will start counting calls when the announcement is made on the radio broadcast.
SELECTION OF WINNERS
- Up to ninety (90) winners may be selected and notified on-air as described above.
- Odds of winning depend in part upon the number and order of calls received.
- Entrants must listen to the Station but do not need to be present to enter or win.
PRIZES
- Up to ninety (90) prizes may be awarded, based on the number of Contestants who successfully win a Prize by playing the Game outlined above.
- The total value of Prizes awarded will not exceed six thousand dollars ($6,000).
- Each Prize value will vary based on the result of the Contestant’s Game and will have an Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) between $50.00 and $500.
- Prize will be awarded in the form of a check.
- No prizes will be awarded, processed or mailed until the winner’s eligibility has been determined and all required releases and tax forms have been signed and returned.

CONDITIONS
- Station is not responsible for any failure of a caller to reach the Station contest line, including but not limited to busy phone lines, misdirected calls, equipment breakdowns, or disconnections. Calls will only be accepted at the designated phone number.
- At the time of entrant’s call, entrant will be required to provide all information requested, including entrant’s full name, complete address (including zip code), phone number and date of birth in order to be eligible to win.
- In the event that the selected caller is disconnected or is found to be ineligible, the next eligible caller who successfully makes it through on the call-in line and completes the call will have the opportunity to play the Game.
- The Station reserves the right to end any contest or amend these rules upon announcement on air and by publication at www.959KISSFM.com.
The Contest will automatically end once winnings from the Game reach six thousand dollars ($6,000) or on May 5, 2023 (regardless of amount awarded), whichever occurs first; however, the Station reserves the right to extend the contest dates.
Copies of these written Contest Rules are available during regular business hours at the main studio of the Station, 2800 E. College Ave, Appleton, WI 54915, or by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Station.
