There’s a new long-range vision for Valley Transit.
General Manager Ron McDonald says the recommendations include some tweaks to their routes. The plan also includes new routes that would run east to west, so people wouldn’t necessarily have to head to downtown Appleton.
For some of the busiest routes, he says there’s a recommendation to add buses. That way, they’d run every half-hour, instead of every hour.
McDonald says they hired consultants from Minneapolis to study the system, and he wanted them to start from scratch.
The Fox Cities Transit Commission and Appleton’s city council approved the plan.
McDonald wants to run more data before proposing any changes. He says adjusting routes can be complicated, because every move could impact another area.
