The head of Little Chute schools will stay on for another year.
District Administrator Dave Botz was planning to retire at the end of June.
He says the school board picked two finalists from places in Wisconsin, and then coronavirus hit. He says both candidates informed the board that they weren’t willing to take another job at this time.
Botz says board members approached him about sticking around, to give them time to regroup. He thinks it was both a difficult decision, and an easy one, once he took time to think about it.
He’s been with the district for 26 years.
Botz says the school board was looking for candidates with strong ties to their current community, so he understands why they didn’t want to leave now.
