Business groups around the state are asking Governor Evers to start planning for the reopening of Wisconsin’s economy.
They wrote a letter, targeting the end of the governor’s current “safer at home” order on April 24th.
Jayme Sellen of the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce says companies need some guidance. She’s hoping the state will help the business community and local governments with the next steps. She says they want to know what things will look like when they reopen.
John Casper of the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce says they have to start thinking strategically about what guidelines will be in place, after “safer at home” to protect people’s health and safety.
About 50 groups signed onto the letter, including the Fox Cities, Oshkosh, and New London chambers.
The groups say businesses would need to bring back workers, and order supplies, so they’re ready. They also realize some social distancing rules and other steps might still be needed.
